Course Site Roles

Course Site Roles

  • Instructor: Can control all functions within a site.
  • TA: Can control all functions within a site, EXCEPT they cannot view roster pictures or hide (unpublish) the site from student view.
  • Student: Cannot modify site functions unless granted permission by the Instructor. Cannot view confidential information of other students
  • Grader: Can add, remove, and modify grades. Can grade Assignments and Assessments in their respective tools. Can add/edit grades in Gradebook.
  • University Librarian: Cannot access Gradebook, Assessments or Assignments. User can add, edit, and modify their own content in the site.

Project Site Roles

Project Site Roles

  • Maintain: Can control all functions within a site.
  • Access: Cannot modify site functions unless granted permission by the Site Maintainer.

Course/Project Site Roles

Roles in both Project and Course Sites

  • Site Assistant: Cannot access Gradebook or grades in Assessments or Assignments. User can add, edit, and modify their own content in the site.
  • Site Collaborator: Can read and access all tools except Gradebook 2, Assessments, and Assignments. Can only delete what they post (think super-student).
  • Guest: Cannot view confidential information. Can only view Announcements, Messages, Chat, and Resources, unless granted permission by the Instructor or Maintainer. Guest permissions are VERY limited.
