The Attendance tool allows the instructor / maintainer to take attendance for sessions they create.

You can also have the Attendance tool add a single grade item to Gradebook. Scores from Attendance will automatically update in Gradebook every five minutes on the hour.

The Attendance tool is also available in a mobile friendly format so the site maintainer or TA can take attendance from a mobile device, such as iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

There is no single, fool-proof method of taking attendance.  The Attendance tool in TRACS is meant to serve as a user-friendly method of reporting attendance.  It is recommended to periodically spot-check student attendance using other methods (such as a sign-in sheet or roll-call).

  1. Select Add Session.
  2. Enter the session's date and time.
Students will be marked Present by default. This can be changed by updating the Mark all active students as drop-down menu.
