Face to Face Workshops

TRACS Training and Workshops


TRACS workshops are being offered on various topics.  In addition to live face-to-face workshops, we are also offering live on-line workshops for those who cannot make it to the Texas State campus for training.

See the workshop schedule below for times and dates.

Be sure to enter your name, contact information, and preferred operating system (PC or Mac).  Reminder emails will be sent the day before the workshop to the email address you provided.  If the workshop is full or canceled you will be notified via email. There will be no confirmation email sent to you.

Basic TRACS

This two hour workshop will show you the basic tools and functions of TRACS. In this workshop you will learn basic site tools including:

TRACS Communication and Dissemination Tools

This one and a half hour workshop will focus on all of the different communication and information dissemination tools in TRACS including:

TRACS Grades and Assignments

This hour and a half workshop will cover the gradebook, post’em, and assignments tools in TRACS. You will learn how to:
 
Add gradebook items, weight grades, submit grades to the registrar, export/import grades, categorize grades, upload grades from the testing center, as well as create and grade online assignments.
 
Parts of this workshop will be demonstration only.

Must have taken Beginning TRACS first.

Assessing your TRACS Site

This  two hour workshop will focus on the assessment, poll, and site stats tools. In this workshop you will learn how to:
 
Create/grade online assessments and surveys, create test question pools, export/import assessment, create an assessment by copying and pasting from a Word document, create an online poll for anonymous class voting, use the site stats tool to track student usage of the site, and view particular student usage of your TRACS site.

Learning Modules

This workshop will teach users how to utilize the learning module tool.  A learning module is the building block of your lesson. A module consists of one module page and one or more content sections which creates breadcrumb links to other sections of the same module for easy navigation.

Grading in TRACS

This workshop will teach users how to create gradebook entries as well as categorize and weight gradebook entries.  We will also learn how to use the Postem tool as well as calsulate your final grades and submit them to the registrar.

TRACS Open Labs

TRACS Open labs are for users who have general questions about TRACS or want a quick refresher on how to create their course sites or who would like to know about new tools or features available in TRACS.  These are NOT workshops. Open labs are designed for quick questions or tool demonstrations.  They are not full-on workshops.
