Send Assessment Grades to Gradebook


Why aren't student grades sending from Assessments to Gradebook? 

  1. The Gradebook tool is not set up. You must fist add Gradebook to the site and complete the set up. 
  2. A gradebook item with the same title already exists in Gradebook. Assessments creates its own gradebook item when sending grades to Gradebook. If an item with the same title exists in gradebook, the assessment will not be able to create a new gradebook item and grades will not transfer. The gradebook item must be deleted from Gradebook. 

Sometimes, the assessment's grading settings must be reset before grades send to Gradebook. To reset the assessment's settings: 

  1. Go to the Assessments tool and select the [Published Assessments] tab.
  2. Select [Settings & Publish] from the Select Action drop down menu next to the assessment you would like to reset. 
  3. Under the Grading and Feedback section, change the Gradebook option to "None." 
  4. Click [Save]. You should be brought back to the main Assessments page, Assessments Not Released to Students.
  5. Select the [Published Assessments] tab.
  6. Select [Settings & Publish] from the Select Action drop down menu next to the assessment you would like to reset. 
  7. Under the Grading and Feedback section, change the Gradebook option to "Grades Sent to Gradebook." 
  8. Click [Save].
  9. Verify that grades have sent to Gradebook. A new item with the same title as the assessment should appear in Gradebook.
