Students: Email

The Email tool in TRACS allows students, instructors, and other participants to communicate with each other. It is up to the instructor in a course on whether or not to add this tool to their course site, if you do not see it available.

  1. In the left Tools List of your site, select Email.
  2. Select Roles.
  3. Select a Role.
  4. Place a check mark in the box next to the name of the individual you wish to email.
  5. If you want this email message sent to a recipient outside of the site, please type their full email address in the Other Recipient(s) field.

Auto-Forwarding Your Texas State Email

In order to ensure you receive email from instructors via TRACS, please do not auto-forward your Texas State email to any outside email services, such as Gmail or Yahoo Mail.

Outside email services have security features that often cause emails from TRACS to be blocked without notification. These email services and their security features are beyond our control, and any missed emails as a result of email forwarding cannot be recovered.
