Podcast
Description: The TRACS Podcast tool is used to upload multimedia files such as mp3’s. The uploaded Podcasts can then be subscribed to by using a podcatcher such as Apple iTunes or may be directly downloaded from your TRACS site.
Step 1: Click [Site Info] in the site you would like to add the Podcasts tool to.
Step 2: Click [Edit Tools].
Step 3: Place a check box next to the Podcasts tool.
Step 4: Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click [Continue] and then [Finish].
Step 1: To add or upload a file to Podcast, click [Add].
Step 2: Next to “Choose a file,” click [Browse].
Step 3: Select the file on your computer and click [Open].
NOTE: Files with names that include the following characters cannot be accepted. If your file’s name contains one of these characters, change the filename before attempting to upload it.

SPECIAL NOTE TO MAC USERS: When uploading a file, make sure the file extension (e.g., .mp3, .wma) is present. If a file extension is not present, anyone attempting to download or view the file will receive an error message.
Step 4: Enter a date and time to publish your podcast. Date must be in format “MM/DD/YYYY HH HH:MM AM/PM” (ex 12/15/2006 02:33:25 PM). Clicking the calendar icon and selecting the date will do this automatically.
Step 5: Enter a title for your podcast.
Step 6: Enter a brief description about the podcast you are uploading.
NOTE: Fields marked with an asterisk are required.
Step 7: Click [Add] to finish or click [Cancel] to exit.
Step 1: Click [Edit] to edit a podcast
Step 2: Revise information about the podcast.
Step 3: Click [Save Changes] to finish or [Cancel] to exit.
Step 1: Click [Delete] and a confirmation screen will appear.
Step 2: Click [Delete] to delete the item or [Cancel] to exit.
Your podcast has a static URL which your participants can use to subscribe to and receive the latest updates.
Step 1: Highlight the URL and copy it to your clipboard. The URL will look something like this: http://tracs.txststate.edu/podcasts/site/yoursiteid
Step 2: Open your podcatcher (such as Apple iTunes) and paste this URL into its appropriate area. Follow your podcatcher’s directions for specifics as they all work differently.
Step 3: All content from TRACS podcast will appear in your podcatcher for downloading.
