A recent survey of Texas State faculty and students shows a fairly high level of satisfaction with TRACS, but a few TRACS tools such as the Gradebook and Forums tools came in for some criticism. The online survey was conducted in April and was aimed at discovering student and faculty understanding of TRACS tools and their capabilities as well as the level of use of other technologies. The survey included multiple-choice and Likert scale items, as well as open-ended questions.
The data generated by the survey will be used to guide system, tool, documentation and support service improvements.
All 962 faculty members using TRACS were asked to respond to the survey which was available online for three weeks. 389 faculty members from every college and virtually every department responded, a 40-percent response rate.
A representative sample of 2501 students was invited to respond to the survey. The sample was selected randomly from the total student population. The sample reflected the characteristics of the total population in terms of gender and class level. 463 students responded to the survey, an 18-percent response rate.
Results of the survey are now available in the following PDF documents.
